• Other worlds: “I paint what I perceive and sometimes what I see,” Cori Caputo said. She works primarily in watercolor and her narrative images travel from old houses to the sea, forests and elsewhere. “Viewers often tell me they recognize themselves in my work. I find their stories and interpretations very interesting because it gives me a new perspective to think about. The same picture can have as many interpretations as viewers,” she said. Caputo finished an art degree at Alfred University in New York in 1984. View her work at The Wine Studio in Manchester in June. • Painting pots: Sibylle Tornow’s sumi-e style brush work on her pottery is inspired by nature and her love of flowers. Exeter Fine Crafts presents Tornow’s pieces in June. She also decorates tiles and bowls by pressing herbs and flowers into the wet clay. Tornow established her pottery business in 1981 and started collaborating with her husband, Ron, in 1986. Both studied fine art and graphic design in Europe and the United States. They are members of the NH Potters Guild and the League of NH Craftsmen. • Win a Shuffle: The Manchester Artists Association presents its annual “Art Affair in the Country” show and sale at the Harmony Learning Center, 54 Constitution Drive in Bedford, on Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a rain date of June 15. The MAA is also launching its first “Open Juried Photography Show.” Any New England area photographer can enter and “digitally crafted images are permitted.” The exhibit will run from July 30 through Aug. 29 at the MAA Gallery at 1528 Elm St. in Manchester. • Top choice: Citizens Bank, as sponsor of the recent exhibit of Merrimack River Painters at City Hall in Manchester, took advantage of their Sponsors’ Choice Award opportunity and selected Betsy Janeway’s watercolor called “My Favorite Bathtub” to display in their lobby through July at 875 Elm St. in Manchester.
