Press releases

Send press releases (that include time, dates and location of the event plus contact information for the public and, if different, contact information for our reporters) to [email protected].
That is a general mail box.

To reach reporters with specific sections of the paper:

Arts – Send information on exhibits, theatrical productions, classical music events, art and theater classes and auditions to Angie Sykeny at [email protected]. You can also reach her by phone at 625-1855 ext. 130.

Books – Send information on book-related events (including author events, book clubs, poetry events and more) to Amy Diaz at [email protected]. Books submitted for review will not be returned. Books can be submitted for review to: The Hippo, 195 McGregor St., Suite 325, Manchester, NH 03102. Books submitted will be considered for review but are not guaranteed review or mention.

Food – Send information about new restaurants, new menus, new chefs, chef and restaurant awards, food events, wine tastings, beer and wine making, cook-offs and other food competitions to [email protected].

Listings – Send information on events and classes for kids, continuing education for adults, fitness and health classes and events, local museum events and exhibits, volunteer needs and more to [email protected]. Please send information intended for listings section at least two weeks before the publication date (Hippo publishes every Thursday) before the event. Please note that due to space constraints, not all listings run every week.

Music – Send information on upcoming live music performances, bands, new CD releases, comedy nights, DJs and karaoke nights, nightlife events and concert series to [email protected].

News – Send information about new businesses, political events and other items intended for the news section to [email protected]. You can also reach him at 625-1855 ext. 136.

Letters to the Editor

Send letters to the editor to [email protected]. Include your name, address and phone number for verification. Letters will be edited for size and will appear in our occasional comments section. Please note we generally do not run letters to the editor and never run form letters and those endorsing a specific candidate.

The Hippo does not accept unsolicited articles, photos, illustrations or guest columns for publication. Submissions will not be returned or acknowledged.
